Lines Across

Lets Make a Mess

Simple and Beautiful Felt Roses (No Sewing Required)

August 4, 2011 by Rachel 28 Comments

Lately I have been having so much fun making flowers and other things out of felt. I have been so surprised at how easily you can make beautiful flowers without even using a needle and thread.
Supplies: felt, hot glue gun, scissors
Time: 5 minutes or less

Cut out the circles. Then cut the circles into spirals. As I have been making these I’ve noticed that slightly uneven circles and spirals make more interesting roses.

Start at the outside end and roll together the felt, keeping the bottom (the dotted line) as even and flat as possible.

Sometimes the very center of the spiral ends out sticking out. Cut this piece off so that the bottom is completely flat. Then using a hot glue gun, glue the end to the rest of the flower.

Cut some leaves to spiral around the bottoms. (The roses are very cute without the leaves). Test out what they will look like before you glue them onto the roses.

Make sure that the bottom is flat and even.

Voila! It only takes about 5 minutes, a hot glue gun, scissors, and a couple pieces of felt to make these beautiful roses.

These felt circles were originally about 3 inches in diameter. The final product is a little less than an inch in diameter.

Since these are so easy to make, it is fun to experiment with different colors and sizes. I love the way this fuchsia rose that I made from a much more uneven, slightly larger circle.

There are so many fun things you can do with these beautiful roses. I am definitely going to be using them in other crafts in the future.

Turn felt roses into fridge magnets.
