Lines Across

Lets Make a Mess

Glass Bottle Picture Frames

September 14, 2011 by Rachel 20 Comments

I love all of the fun pictures I’ve seen floating around on Pinterest lately of glass bottle frames.
{here and here}

This is such a fun, simple, and free project with so many great possibilities.

I used empty Frappuccino bottles, coffee beans, and photographs.

I printed all of the pictures out onto a piece of white printer paper from Word. I used rounded edges for the photos, and made them all about the same size: 4 inches tall by 2 and a quarter wide.

{A shortcut for getting the right-sized pictures: Instead of measuring the bottles, open the Word document containing your pictures. Set the zoom to 100%. Now the size on the screen is the exact size that will print. Hold up the bottles in front of the screen, adjusting the size of the pictures until they look right.}

Add coffee beans (or rocks, marbles, buttons, scraps of fabric, shredded paper…) to the bottoms of the bottles. Then slip in each picture carefully. The pictures will slightly bend but should straighten out once they are inside of the bottles.

I also added some felt roses to the tops.

    Super cute! And it reminds me of that segment on Sesame Street with the guy on a cup: Teeny Little Super Guy. Do they still have him?

    Now that's an awesome idea! It's mostly the creative stuff that can catch everyone's attention. When you look at 'em, they make you go "These are so cuuute!" or something.
