Lets Make a Mess

I Heart Leaves

September 12, 2011 by Rachel 16 Comments

Since I am really getting into the spirit of fall, this week’s roundup is all about leaves. If you were featured, feel free to grab the featured button from the right sidebar.

I love these adorable felt leaves from the Ordinary Mommy Etsy shop. They are actually hair clips. I could see making some of these as fall decorations for around the house.

These fall trees from One Artsy Mama are adorable. What a great fall craft project for kids.

I’m not sure that this great fall leaf cookie wreath would last long around our house. The cookies are also so fun. Country Living has a great tutorial on how to make these multi-colored fall leaf cookies, as well as the wreath.

This simple leaf garland from a Beautiful Mess is just gorgeous and a great idea for easy fall decorating.

Hopefully I can get my hands on some maple leaves down here in Florida because I really want to make these maple leaf roses from Lobzik.

This simple tissue paper leaf from All Kids Network is cute and can be made with basic supplies everyone probably already has around the house. There is also a free printable leaf template.

I love the idea of leaf printing with play-doh. NurtureStore has a great homemade play-doh recipe. The colors are beautiful.

Ok, so pine cones aren’t technically leaves but these felt pine cones from Salt Tree are so adorable and are just perfect for fall. Check out the easy to follow tutorial.

These felt leaves from Rosy~Posy are so cute. What a great way to learn about leaves and have your kids help out with crafts. Trace leaves from different kids of trees onto felt.

Creating a Family Home used fall leaves in a shadow box as art. Great idea with so many possibilities.

Martha Stewart shares a great tip: If you dip colorful leaves in wax they will keep their color throughout the entire fall season and beyond. Check out this great tutorial. I love the hanging leaves, but once you coat the leaves in wax there are so many possibilities on how to use them.

These leaf potholders from Patchwork Pottery are so cute.

I love this leafy pillow from Cluck Cluck Sew. It is such a great scrap buster project and comes with a wonderful tutorial.

Be sure to check out these amazing leaf learning activities and crafts for kids from Oopsey Daisy. I am overwhelmed with good ideas.

You can also collect fall leaves, take 2 pieces of wax paper cut to whatever shape you'd like. Slip the leaves between the sheet of paper, iron so that paper sticks to itself. Make a border with colored tape. Hang in a window to enjoy fall from indoors.
