8 Petaled Fabric Flower Tutorial

8 Petaled Fabric Flower Tutorial

Cut 4 large fabric circles, and 4 small ones. I used a 2 oz. Dixie cup to trace the circles. I used the larger top for the large circles and the smaller bottom for the small circles. You can make the circles any size you want. Remember that the final flower will be about the same size as the large circle.

Cut a felt circle about the same size as the small circles. This will be your base.

Add a dab of hot glue to the inside center of each circle. Fold it in half, then fold it into half again. Do this to all eight petals. Glue the four larger petals to the felt circle. Then glue the four smaller petals as a second layer. Stagger the smaller circles.

Here is a little diagram of how to arrange the petals. Finally, add your center. I used felt, but you could also use a button.

To make the center of the flower, cut a long narrow strip of felt (about 1/2'' by 6''). Cut little hash marks all along one side. Roll the strip together and glue the end.
