Snowy Owl Color Palette

June 4, 2013 by Rachel 2 Comments

Nature Inspired Color Palettes – Week 3

I’ve challenged myself to look for color inspiration in nature. All of the colors used in these color palettes are lifted directly from the photographs themselves.

All of the colors in this palette are taken from the feathers on this snowy owl. I took this picture when we went to a local owl festival last year. This is really such a beautiful bird! I love this subtle and natural color palette.

(In case you were wondering, I’ve moved my weekly nature inspired color palette posts to Tuesdays.)

Was it at the Birds of Prey Center? We're obsessed with owls (or rather, my nieces and nephews are every time they come to visit us and spy one). Mark and I are so impressed with your photography skills. Such a gorgeous image! (And palette.) The white face looks so soft and fluffy!

I think it was hosted by the Birds of Prey Center, but at a different location. It's an annual owl festival… in the fall, I think. Haha, yeah… there are a lot of beautiful owls in FL. Thanks! His face does look so fluffy 🙂
