I have a little obsession with finding ways to make baby and toddler scribbles beautiful. I mean you kids spend hours and hours covering pages with crayons, markers, and paints, and of course it’s always hard to throw away their artwork. But my favorite thing is finding a way to reuse their scribbles, turning them into priceless keepsakes, or useful and meaningful gifts.
One of my favorite tutorials I’ve done are these scribble bows. It’s surprisingly easy to turn sheets of scribbled on paper into fun and meaningful gift bows.
Another fun idea is to use painter’s tape or something similar to create words or shapes on a page. I used this idea to make a cute scribble card. Then let your kids scribble all over it and peel away the tape when they’re done.
I absolutely love this idea from 52 Weeks Project. You can make beautiful post cards. Get watercolor paper and paint words or shapes on with masking fluid. Then let your kids paint watercolors all over the paper. The final result is beautiful. I am definitely doing to try out this idea with my kids (who are really obsessed with watercolors).
These masking tape letters from Art Projects for Kids are really cute. This seems like such a fun activity for a toddler or preschooler, plus you could make a lot and spell out their names or use them for decorations.
This is also a fun idea from Putti’s World with so many possibilities. Cut a shape out of a white piece of paper, like this bunny. Then put it over a page that is covered in scribbles, and voila! Cool wall art!

What great ideas! I've used my daughter's artwork for a few different things, but I've gotten away from that lately, especially since my son isn't really into art work like she was. These ideas are great. I never thought of turning their scribbles into art. My kids are past the scribble stage but might like making some of these anyway. I have 2 girls, ages 8 and 10 and blog about raising girls in this crazy world. Check it out if you want.
