Lines Across

Lets Make a Mess

My Memories Review and Giveaway

October 22, 2011 by Rachel 17 Comments

My Memories Suite is a digital scrapbook software that allows you to create scrapbook-style pages through your computer. You can choose from a lot of templates where all you have to do is add your pictures to beautiful templates, or you can start from scratch and design the pages yourself.
When I first heard about the software, I wasn’t quite sure how it would be better than the free photo books you can make online. I have only gotten a chance to begin to explore the fun possibilities of My Memories, but I have already discovered many ways that this scrapbook software surpasses the free alternatives.
1. There are a lot of great options for background papers, embellishments, and pre-made layouts included with the software. There are also many many more available to purchase online. {So far I have not purchased any extras. Everything I created for this review came from the basic My Memories Suite software}.
2. Once you have created fun pages and played around with your photos, you can print them as a single page at home, get them printed and bound as a photo book, or use them digitally. I plan on making some cute pages and then sharing them with my friends on my personal Facebook page.
3. You can use the graphics and embellishments for blog design. For example, I created this new button very quickly in My Memories, saved it as a jpeg, then cropped it and added a black border in my photo editing software. The entire process took less than 10 minutes and was very simple.
4. My Memories has a very fun and involved online community, largely on their Facebook page. There are frequently giveaways {they are even giving away an iPad when they reach 10,000 followers}. It is also a great place to share your pages and get inspiration from others. Also check out their fun blog, which is another fun way to share what you’ve created.
5. There are quite a few features of the software that I have not yet gotten to use. For example, you can make slide shows and even add music. It is also a great way to create greeting cards or digital cards you can send through e-mail. I look forward to sharing more things I create using My Memories in the future.

I checked out the memories page and the one that jumped out to me the most was the quick calendar pages. I know exactly what I would do with that. Great giveaway.
