Lets Make a Mess

The Working Grandmother

March 1, 2012 by Rachel 4 Comments

People are always talking about the working mother, but who talks much about the working grandmother?

My mother, aka Geemee (more like Dr. Geemee since she has a PhD in Statistics) is one of the busiest people I know. She is constantly juggling her busy job as a college professor and administrator, being a wife and mother, and of course now being a grandmother to these two adorable ones.

How often do you see a grandmother running around a soccer field with her grandchildren… in between classes… in her skirt suit?

Side note: while we were at the park we saw some beautiful blue birds. There were two of them going after each other. We weren’t sure if it was a love thing or a hate thing at the time, but now we know they are two males and they seemed to be trying to kill each other. I even sort of tried to break it up, but they were in their own little world.

A few of their friends even sat around and watched.

All my aunts are hard-working grandmothers! Entertaining the little ones is time-consuming and requires tons of sharp attention. Hip Hip Hooray for the mothers of the mothers!

Ok I had to laugh like a lunatic when I read that you tried to break up a bird fight.
    What did that look like?

Great photos of your mother and your adorable children. Your mother must be very special to balance that all so well.
