Lets Make a Mess

Nail Polish Bobby Pins

May 9, 2012 by Rachel 21 Comments

I saw this tutorial on Pinterest from Pink Lemonade and I knew I had to make some myself. I also love how she gave an old simple necklace a makeover with a little colorful nail polish.

I lined up bobby pins along a piece of card stock. I then painted them with different shades of colorful nail polish. It can get a little messy, but overall it was very easy. Some colors only needed one coat, while more transparent colors needed two or three.

What have you decorated with nail polish?

That's fantastic, and super easy/cheap. Have to say the last things I painted with nail polish were clothes pins and my clarinet case. The things you do when you're bored…

Love the idea! I wear a bobby pin practically every day so this is an awesome way to change it up–and also a great excuse to buy more fun nail polish colors. ; )

    Thanks for the inspiration.

Great idea! I tried it, but the nail polish peeled off after one or two uses. Any ideas to help prevent this?

Try using a thin coat of polish and a top coat.
