Last year I had a lot of fun making a bunch of different pillow box designs. I ended out making the most for Halloween. (Check out: friendly monsters, mummies, Dracula, bats, and Frankenstein.) I love these pillow boxes because they’re so easy to assemble. I shared these cute jack-o-lantern gift boxes at Let’s Wrap Stuff last year, but I wanted to post them here as well:
Today I’m sharing another cute box in the series, Jack-o-lantern pillow boxes. My kids are just obsessed with jack-o-lanterns right now. When they see a pumpkin smiling at them, they both crack up laughing, especially my 3 year old daughter.
One thing I love about these pillow boxes is how easy it is to put them together. There isn’t a lot of complicated cutting, folding, or attaching. They are quick and simple to make.
What you need:
1. Free printable (Jack-o-lantern pillow boxes)
2. White Card Stock
3. Scissors
4. Glue
5. Optional (X-ACTO knife and Elmer’s Dot Runner)
What you do:
1. Print out the template onto a piece of plain white card stock.
2. Cut out the templates. Carefully cut along the lines, leaving as much of the black outline as possible without leaving any white.
3. Score along the curved lines at the top, and fold the other two long black lines on either side of the jack-o-lantern’s face. (You can score lightly with a pair of scissors, or the back side of an X-ACTO knife.)
4. Glue or tape the tab to the opposite inside of the box (so that the box is flat).
5. Fold down the tabs on the top and bottom of the box. Fill with candy and enjoy.
On the back of these little boxes, it says Trick or Treat. They are pretty small and perfect for small candies and treats. They fit about 25 m&ms when they are full, and would make great party favors at a Halloween parties, a cute way to share treats with friends, or just a special surprise for your kids.
